ADAHRS, magnetometer and OAT probe installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §1.2.1, tables 1-1 and 1-2

The ADAHRS gives the displays attitude and air data, the magnetometer gives heading, and the OAT probe gives outside air temperature. Standard suits most kit aircraft; choose High performance for over 300 knots. Choose None if a G5 gives attitude and air data and the G3X shows only map and engine.

Additional ADAHRS installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.2

Up to three ADAHRS can be installed. Each display can show a different one, any display can be switched to any of them, and the system compares them and flags a disagreement. Match the first: a GSU 25D where it is over 300 knots.

GPS antenna (at least one GPS source is required) Choose one installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.8, §20.3, table 20-2

The displays need at least one GPS source. An antenna mounted outside gives the best reception; the GA 57X also brings SiriusXM. Choose the last answer if a transponder with GPS or a GNX 375 already feeds the G3X.

Engine and airframe interface Choose one installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.7, table 7-1

The GEA 24B reads the engine sensors (temperatures, pressures, fuel) and shows them on the G3X Touch. Choose None if the engine has its own monitor.

GFC 500X autopilot servos installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.15, §16, tables 16-1 and 16-6

The GFC 500X autopilot's servos move the controls. Roll only holds the wings level and follows a course; pitch and roll also holds altitude and climbs or descends; a third servo adds a yaw damper.

Pitot/AOA probe (GAP 26) installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.5, §2.1.1.6, table 5-1

A pitot probe that also measures angle of attack, for the displays' AOA indicator. Choose heated for flight in visible moisture.

Remote transponder installation manual 190-01115-01 Rev. AZ, §2.1.1.14

A transponder mounted behind the panel and run from the displays. ADS-B Out is required in most controlled airspace; ADS-B In adds traffic and weather on the displays.

Optional
