Which aircraft

The bulletin affects RV-14 and RV-14A aircraft whose finish kits were shipped before March 20, 2026.

What Van's found, and what changes

Van's reports that the side canopy retention pins have been observed to lift partially out of their sockets during aggressive aerobatic maneuvers and in overspeed conditions. To increase the retention margin in those conditions, the bulletin lengthens the side canopy pins and the rear canopy pin, and increases the engagement depth of the rear canopy latch pin.

Van's lists a complete retrofit kit in its store.

Where to read it

The bulletin is Van's document and is not reproduced here. It is on Van's service information page with its change log. An owner of an affected aircraft should work from the bulletin itself, at its current revision.
