Dynon announced on July 7, 2026, that it is developing integrated IFR GPS navigation for its SkyView HDX system. It is a preview, not a release: Dynon says flight testing and certification work are under way, and that pricing and availability will follow.

What Dynon describes

The capability is full IFR GPS navigation within SkyView HDX, including RNAV approaches to LPV minimums with horizontal and vertical guidance, and approaches coupled to the autopilot.

It is to come from a new remote-mounted IFR module that installs behind the instrument panel and works through SkyView's on-screen flight planner. Dynon's point is panel space: no separate navigator in the radio stack. Dynon also describes a redesigned flight planner for loading departures, arrivals and approaches.

Which aircraft

Dynon says the capability is being developed for release at the same time on both its Dynon Certified line, for type-certificated aircraft, and its experimental line.

What is not known yet

Dynon has not given a price or a date, and the capability is not certified. Dynon says an owner can install SkyView HDX now and add IFR navigation once certification is finalized. Until it is, a SkyView HDX panel planned for IFR still needs an approved IFR navigator of another kind.
