Builders Log: share a signed entry

Share this entry is on every signed entry of your own log. It opens the entry’s words, which you can change, with its photographs, up to ten. Share hands them to your phone’s or computer’s own sharing, so the post goes to Facebook, Instagram, a message or wherever that device shares to. The site posts nothing itself. Copy the words is beside it.

Add to my build: the panel’s picture into the Builders Log

On the Add to my build page, opened from the Panel Designer’s menu bar, Add this picture to the Builders Log is under the design’s picture. One press puts the picture of the panel in the aircraft’s log as a draft entry of its own, dated today; Open it takes you there to write what you did and sign it. The instruments are added to the equipment list as before.

Builders Log: delete an entry, a shorter Plan page, and signing opens the next draft

Delete this entry is at the foot of every entry, draft or signed; it asks once more before it takes the entry out of the log. The Plan page is one line a section: press a section to open New entry, See its entries, Mark complete, How far along and Change. Signing a draft now opens the next draft, and the last one returns you to the log. Import photographs opens on Choose photographs; the questions about the build and the manuals are two buttons at the foot, and each work day’s section, task and rearranging are behind Change this day. The Project page shows the project’s details to read, with Edit these details to change them, and a planned unit on the Equipment list is one line with Record as installed.

Builders Log: a new entry in one short form

New entry now asks three things: what you did, the photographs, and the hours. The date is today and the section is the one you last worked in. Save and sign finishes the entry in one press and returns you to the log; Save as a draft keeps it to finish later. The task is the first sentence of what you wrote unless you type one. Everything else an entry can carry is behind More detail. A draft opens as the same short form, filled in, with Save and sign; signing returns you to the log with a link to the next draft. The Log page is the entries, newest first: totals are one line, the drafts to sign are one bar, and search and sharing are out of the way.

    Share your Builders Log

A project’s Project page has a Sharing choice: only you, anybody signed in to Hangar Flying, or anybody. A shared log has a page of its own that others can read: the sections, the entries and their photographs, with a draft marked as a draft. Hours, helpers, serial numbers and any entry marked private are not shown. The Builders Log page lists the logs their builders have shared.

    The Builders Log

A new app for anybody building, restoring, rebuilding or upgrading an aircraft. Start a project and write an entry for each piece of work: the date, the task, photographs from the phone, who did it, the hours, and a lesson learned for the next builder. Parts have their own fields for manufacturer, model, part number and serial number, and a part recorded as installed is on the aircraft’s equipment list the same moment, where it is checked against airworthiness directives and manufacturer service documents. Sign an entry when it is right; a correction is a new entry. Your own copies of the kit’s manuals can be kept with the project, searched, and opened at the page an entry names. Import photographs turns the photographs you already have into draft entries, one for each work day, by the date each was taken. Plan lists the sections of the build, Equipment the equipment list, and Project downloads every entry and photograph as one file. The aircraft is in MRO from the first day, marked Under construction. Made for a phone in the hangar. A photograph on an entry opens large with a press; there it can be given a caption, or a pin: a numbered dot on one spot with a note beside it. The Log page shows hours, days worked, entries and photographs, the entries by month, and each section with how far along it is. For work that was photographed and never logged, Import photographs makes a draft for each day from the photographs’ own dates; About this build takes a few answers first, such as whether the kit came partly built. On a draft, Find pages looks in your own manuals for what you wrote and offers the pages to add, and a photograph of a part’s label opens the part form beside it.
