Add to my build puts the instruments on your design on your aircraft's equipment list on Hangar Flying, where they are listed as planned until you install them. It can also put the design's picture in the aircraft's Builders Log.
You need an aircraft on Hangar Flying first. Without one, the page says No aircraft yet. and offers Add your aircraft.
Add the instruments
- Open the design in the designer.
- Click Add to my build in the menu bar (Add to build in a narrower window). The designer saves your design first, then the Add to my build page opens in a new tab.
- If you have more than one aircraft, click the one you want under Aircraft.
- The page lists each instrument on the design once, with its part number and Quantity, how many the design holds. Blanks, spacers, switches and breakers are left out. Check the ones you are installing.
- Press Add to the equipment list of your aircraft.
The aircraft's equipment list opens at the planned items. When a unit is installed, record it there as installed, with its serial number and the date.
Bring the same design in again
An instrument the aircraft already holds is marked already on the equipment list and cannot be checked. Where the design holds more of one than the aircraft does, the line says how many are still to add. Bringing the same design in again adds only what is new. When nothing is left to add, Open the equipment list takes you to it.
Add the picture to the Builders Log
When the aircraft has a Builders Log, Add this picture to the Builders Log is under the design's picture at the top of the page. The picture is the one made when the design was last saved.
- Press Add this picture to the Builders Log.
- The page says Added as a draft entry. Press Open it to go to the entry.
The draft is dated today and titled "Instrument panel design:" with the design's name. Add your words, then save and sign it as you would any entry. If the log already has that picture, the page says Already in the Builders Log. and Open it goes to the entry it was added as.
To see the equipment list of the design itself, as a page you can add items to and download, see Export the equipment list.
