Undo steps back one change at a time, and Redo steps forward again. Both are in the tool row, just after Select several.
The keys
- Ctrl+Z undoes.
- Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes.
- On a Mac, Command+Z undoes and Command+Shift+Z redoes.
The keys act on the panel only while you are not typing in a box, such as the instrument search or a placard's words. See Keyboard shortcuts.
What Undo takes back
Every change to the design, at any zoom:
- adding, moving and deleting instruments, including a nudge with the arrow keys
- Align, Distribute, Center On Panel and Move / Space Items
- Group and Ungroup, Lock and Unlock
- placards, their words and their place
- add-on panels
- construction lines
- the panel color
- a switch's color or position, a breaker's rating, and a display's size, model or screen
A change made with several instruments selected is one step: Undo puts them all back together.
Selecting, zooming, Measure, and showing or hiding lines change nothing in the design, so there is nothing to undo.
Good to know
- The designer keeps about the last hundred steps.
- The steps start when the design opens. After the page is reloaded, changes made before the reload cannot be undone.
- Make a new change after Undo, and the steps you undid can no longer be redone.
- Undo changes the design like any other change: press Save to keep it, or let the autosave do it. See Save a panel design.
