Customers, for a shop

Where a shop keeps the people it works for, and how to add one.

A shop account has Customers in MRO’s bar, beside Dashboard and Aircraft, and on its Profile, on the MRO tab, under The shop. An account for “My own aircraft” has no Customers page.

The Customers page is a card for each customer, in alphabetical order: the name, the home airport, the number of aircraft, and the phone number. A customer with aircraft carries a chip with the standing of the one that most needs attention. A card opens the customer.

To add a customer:

  1. Press “Add a customer”.
  2. Enter the aircraft’s Registration and press “Look it up”. The FAA registry fills in the owner’s name and address and names the aircraft. This step can be skipped.
  3. Enter or correct the Name. Email, Phone, Home airport, Address and Notes are there too.
  4. The Email is the customer’s sign-in to “Your aircraft at the shop”. Check “Email them a link to their aircraft records” to have them told.
  5. Press “Add this customer”. When the registration was looked up, the aircraft is added under the customer and its page opens.

A customer’s own page shows their details with “Edit these details”, their aircraft with “Add an aircraft for” and the customer’s name, and notes about the customer. A note cannot be edited once written; a correction is a new note.

“Archive” is at the foot of a customer’s page. “Archived customers”, at the top of the Customers page, lists them, and “Unarchive” brings one back.
