A customer whose email address is on a shop’s account signs in and opens “Your aircraft at the shop” from the account menu. The shop and how to reach it lead the page. Then each aircraft: what is coming due, compliance as recorded, discrepancy reports, what is installed, the maintenance records, and the notes the shop checked “Visible to the customer”.
Two things on that page are the customer’s to do. When the shop recommends work, the customer answers on the report with Approve, Defer or Decline, and the shop is told. And “Update the hours” keeps the tach and Hobbs current, which is what everything due by hours reads against.
Everything else is the shop’s record, for the customer to read. The page is a copy: the maintenance records 14 CFR 91.417 requires stay with the aircraft. If no shop has records under the address you signed in with, the page says so.
