Everything on the aircraft that carries a part number of its own, the engine, the propeller, the magnetos, the ELT, the seat belts, can carry an airworthiness directive that the aircraft model alone will never find. A directive about a magneto names a magneto.
To record something:
- On the Equipment page, open the system, then the item’s card.
- Under “Record this part”, type the part number, the serial number, the manufacturer and the model. Enter what you have. One number is a good record.
- If somebody other than the manufacturer built or overhauled it, an Aero Sport Power Lycoming for example, put them in “Built or overhauled by”. The directives still find it under the manufacturer.
- Check “This part is not certificated — experimental” if that is so.
- Press “Save this part”.

The part is saved even when a number is missing, and the part then shows what is missing. If a number is not on the part at all, a worn tag or a shop-made piece, say so on the part: “No serial number on this part”. That is the reason no directive matched, kept for whoever reads the record next.
An item this aircraft does not have gets “Not installed on this aircraft” checked. The card stays, subdued, so the statement can be seen and changed later.
The Equipment list page holds the whole list. Under “This list as a file”, “Download the template” gives the expected items with what is recorded filled in, and “Export the current list” gives every recorded part. To bring a list in, choose the file and press “Read the file”. A preview shows what would be added before anything is written. An import adds parts and fills blanks; it never overwrites or deletes.

A panel design can start the list. On the Equipment list page, Planned holds what a design says is going into the aircraft. Press “Bring in a panel design”, or “Add to my build” from the Panel Designer, and pick the design. A planned unit is not installed and is checked against no directive. When it is installed, press “Record as installed” and enter its serial number and the date. It is a member tool.
You will not get everything in one go. Much of it is only readable when something is apart, so the list is built up over years, at each inspection.
